The AI Index Report 2022 is the fifth edition of a report that tracks, collates, and visualizes data related to artificial intelligence. The report includes data from academic, private, and nonprofit organizations, as well as self-collected data and original analysis. The report aims to provide unbiased, rigorously vetted, and globally sourced data for policymakers, researchers, executives, journalists, and the general public to develop a more thorough and nuanced understanding of the complex field of AI. The report shows that AI systems are starting to be deployed widely into the economy, but at the same time, the ethical issues associated with AI are becoming magnified. The report includes a new chapter with an in-depth analysis of technical AI ethics metrics and data on global AI legislation records in 25 countries.
