The GEO for Cities report provides a roadmap for decision makers to create environmentally sustainable and just cities. The report is based on the best available science and compiled by world-renowned experts. The report focuses on urbanization as one of the main drivers of environmental change and presents solutions to address challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The report is led by two co-chairs and guided by an Advisory Committee of organizations focused on urban and environment solutions. The report emphasizes the urgent need for everyone involved in building or managing cities to address these challenges to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 11, which aims to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and environmentally sustainable.
