Poweringthe world’spayments ecosystem Growth. About a year ago, one of the analysts who coversACI said something I have thought about oftensince. He said, “I haven’t usually used the words‘ACI’ and ‘growth’ in the same sentence.” This wasa compliment, but it also put our future task inperspective. Having made strong progress towardbeing recognized as a growth company, we mustcontinue the trajectory. Success demands moresuccess. In this, ACI’s 50th year, I am pleased todiscuss our progress and our future. Worldwide Best in Class in Payments Orchestration,CNBC identified ACI as one of the World’s TopFintech Companies of 2024, and U.S. News &World Report and Newsweek named ACI as a TopWorkplace. ACI’s cutting-edge cloud strategy aims toresponsibly guide financial institutions, merchants,and payment providers on their journey to the cloudwithin the market’s ongoing shift to cloud-nativeapplications. Your company’s financial results in 2024 were verystrong across all the metrics we track. We delivered10% organic revenue growth, doubling the growthwe achieved in 2023. We grew net income 54%,adjusted EBITDA 18%, and more than doubledour operating cash flow versus 2023. Financially,we are in a very strong position, with significantliquidity and a historically low debt leverage ratio,which underscores the strength of our businessmodel and our commitment to delivering valueto our shareholders. We met or exceeded thecommitments we made to our shareholders,customers, business partners, employees, and thecommunities we serve. Our market-leading real-time payment solutions arehelping banks, central banks, merchants, and smallbusiness owners drive better financial inclusion,providing access to financial services to millionsof unbanked or underbanked people around theworld. We led a study quantifying the global impactof real-time payments, identifying incrementaleconomic growth of more than $250 billionworldwide (and growing!). None of us can go a day without seeing multiplereports about the impacts of artificial intelligence(AI) on our lives and businesses. Your company hasbeen a pioneer in the use of AI in payments, thoughadmittedly we have done a relatively poor jobmarketing this. For nearly three decades, ACI hasapplied machine learning, deep learning, generalAI, and now generative AI to most aspects of ourbusiness, including fraud detection and prevention,customer service, code generation, testing, andvalidation. ACI will continue to be a leader inapplying new and enhanced technologies to solveour customers’ business challenges. ACI achieved significant strategic milestones in2024, including the launch of our ACI®Connetic™payments hub. With ACI Connetic reenvisioningthe way banking approaches its business model,we continue to be a leader in the transformation ofglobal payments, delivering intelligent paymentsorchestration with next-generation technologyand leading enterprise software solutions. In thelast year alone, Datos Insights recognized ACI central to every business in every country in theworld. All of us depend on the ability to pay for thethings our families need. Reducing effort, friction,inconvenience, and cost in the world’s paymentsecosystem is what ACI is all about. Amazingtechnology is everywhere around us — the key isharnessing it and making it work for all of us. ACI has rightly been criticized for a degreeof “lumpiness” in our revenues, with heavydependence on strong fourth quarter results andforecasts with too much variability. Over the pastcouple of years, your management team hasfocused heavily on signing new business andrenewal contracts earlier in the year to de-risk thelater quarters and enable our sales and accountmanagement teams to focus on future growthrather than finishing up renewals at the end of theyear. These efforts have been more successful thaneven I expected. We had more than $100 million ofcontracts signed in the first half of 2024 that turnedinto revenue in the second half. As a result, ourpipeline for 2025 grew, and we were able to startthe new year stronger than ever before. I am often asked about the most interesting timesand experiences of my career. I can unequivocallysay TODAY is the most interesting, most exciting,most inspiring time of my life. Change is constantand ACI is at the heart of all the excitement. Wepower the world’s payments ecosystem, and thatis where we want to be! Your leadership team isintensely focused on delivering for our customers,for our people, and for you, our investors. Weunderstand very clearly that delivering strongshareholder value is our job, and we intend to dojust that. I made the decision early in 2025 to combineour Bank and Merchant segments into one newbusiness called Payments Software. This makessense for many reasons. First, and quite simply,although the software is configured differently forthe Bank and Merchant customer audiences, thecoding expertise, functionality, and research anddevelopment efforts are shared.
