During the first half of 2024, global economica c t i v i t y s l o w e d d o w n a s e x p e c t e d , w i t heconomic fundamentals becoming morestabilized. Although the overall performance ofthe economy exceeded anticipations, numerouschallenges remained, including persistentinflationary pressures and complex geopoliticalsituations. In particular, tensions in the MiddleEast are likely to result in volatility in energyprices, which in turn could affect the globalmarket. Domestically, during the first half of thisyear, China’s economy managed to maintain therecovery trend that emerged in the second halfof last year, despite various ongoing difficultiesand challenges, such as fading consumerconfidence, which had not yet been successfullytackled, and a waning market expectation, whichwas in need of a boost. Nevertheless, with thecontinued implementation of a series of macro-economic policies aimed at stabilizing growth,we believe that China’s economy will continue toimprove its ability to withstand risks, overcomechallenges and achieve steady and sustainabledevelopment. During the first half of the year, theGroup’s procurement price of raw materialsdecreased by approximately 5.61% year-on-year, while the sales price of paper packagingproducts increased slightly by approximately6.89% compared to the corresponding periodlast year. The Group recorded a profit marginof 14.08%, which was 2.77% higher than thecorresponding period last year.
