NTT's Frankfurt 2 Data Center offers flexible, secure, and interconnected solutions for housing IT and network systems in a high-availability environment. Located in the East of Frankfurt, it's part of the city's rich fiber network and is connected to the DE-CIX, one of the world's largest internet exchange points. Situated alongside Munich and Hamburg, Frankfurt 2 Data Center provides comprehensive solutions for various requirements, supporting up to 1,500m² of IT space and a maximum IT load of 1.1 MW.
Key Infrastructure Features:
- Space: Offers flexible colocation deployments including single racks, cages, and suites, along with ancillary spaces like offices, storages, and pre-installation rooms.
- Cooling: Utilizes a redundant water-cooled system with free-cooling (N+1), cold air supply from bottom to top via raised floor, and star-shaped chilled water pipes to CRAH units with redundant pumps.
- Power: Features an on-site substation delivering 3 MVA of power, with a maximum client IT load of 1.1 MW, an average power density of 1 kW/m², and an own medium-voltage feed from the European grid via local power supplier. It supports UPS N+1 redundant bridging time of at least 15 minutes at full load and emergency generators capable of running for 48 hours.
- Fire Protection: Monitored with an automatic digital fire alarm system, equipped with smoke detection early warning systems, mobile gas extinguishing systems, and hand-held fire extinguishers.
- Security: Equipped with a Service Operation Center for 24/7 security and operation, redundant monitoring of critical functions, video surveillance systems for external and internal areas, card swipe entry/exit to all doors, and person separation locks per DC building. It also includes preventive risk assessment, continuous testing, and training of operating personnel.
- Connectivity: Carrier- and cloud-neutral, offering a mix of global Tier 1 suppliers to regional suppliers, connectivity to major carrier hubs, pre-spliced dark fiber on demand, redundant cabling infrastructure with diverse paths, high-performance internet access, inter-data center connectivity for geo-redundant solutions, and a multi-service interconnection platform for connecting clients to major clouds.
