TheareahasbeenacoredriverofChina’sexplosivegrowthsincetheeconomicreformofthe1980sand90s.ThemetropolisesofGuangzhouandShenzhen,inparticular,havebeenatthecenterofChina’smanufacturingandinnovationpowerfordecades,fosteringsomeofthebiggestnamesintechnology,realestate,manufacturing,andmore.ThePortofShenzhenisthethirdbusiestinChinaandfourthbusiestintheworld,handlingaround278.4millionmetrictonsofcargoin2021.
