The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that aims to provide insights on the global economy. It has been ranked the world's number-one private-sector think tank in the Global Think Tank Index for two consecutive years. MGI research combines economics and management, using the "micro-to-macro" methodology to examine industry trends and understand macroeconomic forces. Its current research focuses on six themes, including productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, global financial markets, technology and innovation, and urbanization. The MGI is led by four senior partners and has a team of partners, senior fellows, and consultants.
