The McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) is a research arm of McKinsey & Company that focuses on developing a deeper understanding of the evolving global economy. Since its founding in 1990, MGI has conducted research on various industries and themes, including productivity and growth, natural resources, labor markets, the evolution of global financial markets, the economic impact of technology and innovation, and urbanization. Recent reports have covered topics such as the digital economy, the impact of AI and automation on employment, income inequality, and the productivity puzzle. MGI is led by three senior partners and a group of partners and senior fellows.
