The ICAP Status Report 2014 provides an overview of emissions trading schemes (ETS) worldwide. The report is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and was prepared by the International Carbon Action Partnership Secretariat. The report includes contributions from policymakers and other collaborators in the emissions trading field. ETSs are defined as mandatory cap-and-trade systems for greenhouse gases, but other market-based instruments such as carbon taxes and baseline-and-crediting systems are not included. The report's findings and opinions are solely the responsibility of its authors.
