The British Council commissioned Collingwood Environmental Planning (CEP) to assess its contribution to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2016. The study found that the British Council's programmes and projects were contributing to many of the SDGs, particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. The report updates the previous research and highlights the importance of SDG 16 for sustainable development. The British Council should take the lead in outlining appropriate indicators for UK international development contributions.
