The Edinburgh International Culture Summit 2018 focused on the theme of "Culture: Connecting Peoples and Places". The summit aimed to explore how art and culture can help us find common ground in a world dominated by social media, how policies can balance investment in individual artists, creative communities, and infrastructure, and how culture can contribute to the health and wellbeing of human societies. The agenda was non-partisan and aimed to present multiple points of view. The summit covered three interlinked topics: "Culture in a Networked World", "Culture and Investment", and "Culture and Wellbeing". The summit encouraged participants to think about how culture can connect people and places and how it can contribute to the health and wellbeing of human societies.
