The decline was driven by a decrease in registrations in the UK, which accounted for 13% of total EU registrations. Production in the EU also decreased by 3% in Q2 2017, with a total of 2.5 million cars produced. However, exports increased by 2% in Q2 2017, reaching 2.1 million cars exported. The report also highlights the shift towards electric and hybrid vehicles, with registrations of these cars increasing by 44% in Q2 2017 compared to Q2 2016.
