Foreign Exchange Management (Nondebt Instruments) (Fourth Amendment) Rules, 2020

The government has issued an ordinance called the "Jiidi GIDH Extraordinary Part II-Section 3-Sub-section (ii) Ordinance" on December 8, 2020. The ordinance amends the "Jiidi GIDH" of 1999 and the "Jiidi GIDH (Non-Debt Water Resources) Act, 2019" to create a new law called the "Jiidi GIDH (Fourth Amendment) Ordinance, 2020". The ordinance provides for the use of certain provisions of the "Jiidi GIDH (Non-Debt Water Resources) Act, 2019" to regulate the use of groundwater resources. The ordinance also specifies the name and commencement date of the new law as "Jiidi GIDH (Fourth Amendment) Ordinance, 2020". The ordinance also clarifies that certain banks and financial institutions will not be considered as units for the purpose of calculating the unit of the "Jiidi GIDH (Non-Debt Water Resources) Act, 2019".
