This report discusses the importance of energy conservation in the cement manufacturing process, with fans being a significant equipment in this process. Fans are used in various areas such as crushing, grinding, pyro-processing, and packing, and it is crucial to select the most efficient fan for each application. The report explains that fans are volumetric machines that move quantities of air or gas from one place to another, overcoming resistance to flow. The efficiency of the fan is determined by the pressure differential created by the energy transmitted to the gas by the rotating impeller. If there is no resistance to flow, the fan provides the gas with velocity energy only, but when inlet or outlet ducts are added, frictional resistance is imposed, and partial compression occurs on the outlet side.
