The Exane BNP Paribas-Arthur D. Little joint report on telecom operators focuses on the move by operators into content. The report draws three principal conclusions: triple-play slows mobile substitution and pushes for in-country consolidation, a "light content" strategy can boost growth and create value, and telcos have the opportunity to drive the invention of the TV of the future, in partnership with media and tech companies. However, individual country scenarios will show huge differences. The report is based on 95 interviews with 83 companies in the telecoms-media-technology (TMT) arena operating in 17 countries.
