The retail industry is experiencing rapid change as customer needs evolve and new technology emerges. This has led to the development of a new retail model, known as U-Channel Retailing, which is ubiquitous, universal, and unique. This model is supported by new technological solutions that are enabling customer-driven innovations. The authors of this report suggest that retailers must successfully transform towards a U-Channel environment in order to remain competitive. This evolution affects not only traditional high street retailers, but also B2C companies with developed retail activities.
