The ADL Healthcare team conducted a single blind experiment comparing the outputs of a manual review of medical literature with those of a technology solution. The sample consisted of English articles from neuroscience publications, with 50% about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and covering the ADHD drug "methylphenidate". The technology solution was able to identify a higher percentage of reportable adverse events (AEs) in the literature articles compared to the manual review. This suggests that technology has matured to handle intelligent tasks such as literature review and can be effective in searching for reportable AEs in medical literature.
