The Atradius Payment Practices Barometer survey of Indonesian businesses in June 2020 found that despite economic challenges, business confidence remains positive. The survey was completed during March 2020, when Indonesia applied a partial lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus. The majority of respondents predict an increased dependence on bank finance, and many businesses plan to strengthen their internal credit control procedures, including outsourcing debt collection, in response to a heightened risk of payment default. The survey also found that Indonesia offers the shortest average payment terms of all surveyed countries in Asia, which may be due to difficulties in collecting on invoices.
