The Accountancy Futures report highlights the importance of restoring the role of audit in society. The report was discussed at roundtables in Manchester and London on March 18 and 22, 2010. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is the global body for professional accountants, offering business-relevant qualifications to people of application, ability, and ambition. The report supports the need for capacity development in the profession and encourages the adoption of global standards. The ACCA network includes 83 offices and centers and more than 8,000 Approved Employers worldwide, providing high standards of employee learning and development. The organization also promotes appropriate regulation of accounting and conducts relevant research to ensure accountancy continues to grow in reputation and influence.
