This paper explores the challenges of governance, audit, and accountability in the post-crash world. The public service landscape has changed, bringing new challenges. The paper summarizes discussions from an ACCA roundtable in Westminster in April 2014, which brought together politicians, contributors from the report, academics, journalists, regulators, and auditors from across the country to discuss audit and accountability. The paper highlights the role of public audit in a post-crash world and its importance in promoting accountability and transparency. The paper also emphasizes the need for the profession to adapt to the changing landscape and to develop capacity in the profession.
