The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is a regional intergovernmental platform that promotes cooperation among its member states and associate members in pursuit of sustainable development solutions. The ESCAP secretariat supports inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development in the region by generating action-oriented knowledge and providing technical assistance and capacity-building services. The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) is the focal point for the integrated treatment of trade and development and interrelated issues in the areas of finance, technology, investment, services, and sustainable development. UNCTAD supports developing countries to access the benefits of a globalized economy more fairly and effectively by providing analysis, facilitating consensus-building, and offering technical assistance. The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations with a unique mandate to promote and accelerate industrial development. Its mandate is reflected in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and innovation.”
