The 2017 IDG Research Services survey, "Stakes Rise for IT: The IT Transformation Journey," found that 98% of surveyed IT leaders view IT as "critical" or "very important" to their company's business strategy. This newfound respect for IT presents opportunities and challenges for IT teams to embrace a more rapid rate of change while "keeping the lights on." New technologies, practices, and service delivery models are key to IT transformation and optimization. However, funding and executing IT innovation remains difficult. The survey polled senior IT leaders from organizations with an average of 23,000 employees, asking about their organization's business and IT strategies, optimization opportunities and challenges, and more.
