This report provides insights into the grantee experience of the funding process, based on human-centered research conducted by Luminate and Simply Secure in July-September 2018. Luminate is a global philanthropic organization that aims to empower people and institutions to build just and fair societies. The report is a collaboration between Luminate, Simply Secure, and the Governance & Citizen Engagement Initiative at Omidyar Network. The research focused on understanding grantees' experiences of the funding process, and the interviews and survey were conducted over the course of the research. The report provides themes, insights, and recommendations for improving the grantee experience.
