The EESDA project, implemented between 2017-2019, aimed to advance knowledge and expertise on the articulation of social dialogue in Europe and its effectiveness. The project involved desk research, an online survey, interviews with EU-level social partners, and case studies in six EU Member States and four sectors. Findings were analyzed using network analysis to visualize strong and weak ties between actors and draw lessons for other sectors and countries. The project assessed social dialogue articulation between national and European levels and its effectiveness in distinct industrial relations models and traditions. The research can inform efforts to improve social dialogue and its impact on society.
