The Center for a New American Security has released a report titled "Defense Technology Strategy." The report focuses on the role of emerging technologies in shaping the future of defense strategy. The authors thank several individuals for their contributions to the report. The report is authored by Paul Scharre, a Senior Fellow and Director of the Technology and National Security Program at CNAS. He is the author of "Army of None: Autonomous Weapons and the Future of War." Dr. Scharre worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense in the Bush and Obama administrations and led the Department of Defense working group that drafted DoD Directive 3000.09. He holds a PhD in war studies from King’s College London and an MA in political economy and public policy and a BS in physics, cum laude, from Washington University in St. Louis.
