The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs' Population Division provides the international community with regular studies of population size and characteristics, as well as the three components of population change (fertility, mortality, and migration) for all countries and areas of the world. The Division's work helps global policies in the economic, social, and environmental spheres interface with national action, and provides timely and accessible population data and analysis of population trends and development outcomes. The World Population Prospects 2022 Summary of Results, which was embargoed until July 11, 2022, provides the latest information on global population trends and projections.
