The Encryption Consulting PKI and IoT Trends Study 2022 surveyed professionals in the cybersecurity domain across various organizations around the globe. The study focused on the regular usage of cloud applications and the security concerns related to IoT devices. The survey found that digital certificates are becoming a necessity in today's encryption landscape, with 3,520 certificates from various countries across the globe. The study also found that PKI is the topmost concern for professionals working in the cybersecurity domain, as it provides core authentication and security for these technologies. The survey demographics included the United States, Germany, Japan, Korea, Brazil, France, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia. The study covered the global trends followed across industries leveraging PKI for the year 2022. The study also found that the usage of traditional password protection methods decreased from 45% in 2020 to 27% in 2021.
