Arthur D. Little's Global FTTH/B Study - 2020 Update shows that the race to gigabit fiber is stronger than ever. Over 10 markets have reached coverage of over 95% of homes, with Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe leading the way. Incumbents are predominantly responsible for the deployments, but open access fiber initiatives have the potential to boost coverage in lagging markets. Migration to a fiber infrastructure is causing incumbents to decide the fate of legacy copper networks, with a growing number of markets planning, underway, or已完成 copper switch off.
